"A cloud can never die. A cloud can become snow, or hail β¦or rain. But it is impossible for a cloud to pass from being into non-being. And that is true with your beloved one. She has not died. She is continued in many new forms. And you can look deeply and recognize herself in you and around you." β Thich Nhat Hanh.

I unlocked the front porch by the light of neighborhood porch lights
in my car
a light fog softens the traffic that surrounds me
by the time we wind our way to Mulholland,
great swathes of fog-cloud are tumbling over the crest into the valley
pushed by the clouds behind them
in an invisible cloud traffic pattern
pursuant to the wind
and i have all my windows open
i want to feel the cloud passing through this vehicle
i take a deep breathe
to fill my interior with hints of pine and eucalyptus
this is the nature that inspires me
