Carmen Herrera (1915-2022)
Descansa en luz
Her art and her life inspired so many. Iām so glad she lived so long (106!) and got to experience recognition and appreciation, and see her story and art inspire so many people. It was a privilege to spend time with her when I did to make The 100 Years Show.
I always had what she was having, which meant a healthy pour of scotch at midday. Pour yourself a scotch and drink to a real one. May her memory be for a blessing
So much love to those who cared for her and loved her all these years, especially her friend and neighbor artist Tony Bechara, the team at Lisson Gallery and all her caregivers.
